Archives – Warrington (Grappenhall)

We hold the following image of Grappenhall church in our archives.

Grappenhall IM Church began its life in 1828, in a room above a bake house on Knutsford Road.  When the room became too small, a plot of land was bought on Chester Road and a church was built and opened in 1881.  When this building became to small land was bought on the corner of Knutsford Road and Knutsford Old Road, and a new church was built and opened in 1913.  Further extension was made to the building starting in 1951 and completed in 1955 when the hall was added to the rear of the church.  The building is still in place and used for worship by the congregation today.
