Coronavirus (COVID-19): Acting Faithfully and Responsibly

Please read the following letter from Dorothy Kendrick and Brian Rowney explaining how we, as a Connexion, are approaching the current pandemic and setting out a Priority Framework which will guide our response.

Tuesday 24th March 2020:

You may well have heard the statement from the Prime Minister last evening – if not we advise you to find the details online.  In the light of the Government’s announced measures, we urge everyone to follow the instructions given.  We will give a fuller statement of advice as soon as possible, but in the meantime let’s continue to pray, to love, to care for the vulnerable, and build our communities, even while “isolated”.

In the light of these statements we ask you to observe the following until and unless further guidance follows:

  • All weddings and baptisms should be suspended with immediate effect.
  • Funerals are still permitted with limited numbers (close family only) attending, though clearer guidance will follow as soon as it is available.
  • If your church has been open for private prayer it should now close.
